Replacing the front door lock (Opel Astra J)

You will need: tORX T30 key, flat-blade screwdriver.



1. Raise the glass to its highest position and remove the front door trim (see Removal and installation the front door trim).



2. Peel off the moisture-proof film from the inner door panel.



3. Through the hole in the inner door panel, unscrew the front screw securing the lock casing.





4. Remove the rear lock casing mounting screw…



5. …and remove the casing from the door cavity.



6. Unfasten the outer handle rod holder retainer…



7. …and disconnect the rod from the door lock lever.





8. Remove the three screws securing the lock to the rear end of the door.



9. Use a screwdriver to pry up the edge of the lock rod seal…



10. …remove the seal from the hole in the door panel and remove it from the rod.



11. Remove the lock from the technological hole in the inner door panel.





12. After pressing the lock..



13. …disconnect the front door lock electric drive wiring harness connector from the lock and remove the lock.



14. Install the front door lock and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
