Removal and installation the front door (Opel Astra J)

You will need: 10 mm socket head, flat blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Open the front door.



3. Remove the bolt securing the front door opening limiter to the body pillar.



4. Use a screwdriver to pry up the edge of the door wiring harness seal…

Note: For clarity, shown with the door opening limiter removed. When removing the door, it is not necessary to remove the limiter completely.

5. …and remove it from the frame.





6. Remove the frame from the hole in the front pillar, overcoming the elastic resistance of its holders.



7. Using a screwdriver, pry up the wiring harness connector retainer…



8. …throw it back…



9. …and disconnect the connector from the interior wiring harness.





10. Holding the door (it's best if an assistant does this), unscrew the bolts securing the upper hinge of the front door.



11. Similarly, unscrew the bolts securing the lower hinge of the front door and lower the door onto a support installed at the level of the body threshold.

12. Install the front door in the reverse order of removal.
