Replacing the rear door lock (Opel Astra J)

You will need: tORX keys T20 and T30, flat-blade screwdriver.



1. Raise the glass to its highest position and remove the rear door trim (see Removal and installation the rear door trim).



2. Peel off the moisture-proof film from the inner door panel.



3. Remove the two screws securing the door trim support bracket…

4. …and remove the bracket.



5. Unfasten the outer handle rod holder retainer and disconnect the rod from the door lock lever.



6. Remove the three screws securing the lock to the rear end of the door.



7. Use a screwdriver to pry up the edge of the lock rod seal…





8. …remove the seal from the hole in the door panel and remove it from the rod.



9. Remove the lock from the technological hole in the inner door panel.



10. By pressing the lock…



11. …disconnect the front door lock electric drive wiring harness connector from the lock…





12. …and remove the lock.



13. Install the rear door lock and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
