Removal and installation the outer trim of the tailgate (Opel Astra J)

You will need: 10 mm socket head, flat blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Remove the lower part of the tailgate trim (see Removal and installation the rear door trim).



3. By pressing the lock…



4. …disconnect the wiring harness connector from the tailgate lock switch.





5. Unscrew the four nuts securing the outer trim.



6. Remove the outer tailgate trim, routing the wiring harness through the opening in the tailgate.



7. Release the holders of the rear lid lock switch wiring harness connector…



8. …and disconnect the block from the outer trim of the tailgate.





9. Use a screwdriver to press the two latches of the tailgate lock switch…



10. …and remove the switch.

11. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
