Replacing the tailgate lock (Opel Astra J)

You will need a TORX T40 key.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Remove the lower part of the tailgate trim (see Removal and installation the rear door trim).



3. Press the harness connector lock…



4. …and disconnect it from the rear door lock electric drive.



5. Remove the two bolts securing the tailgate lock…





6. …and take it off.

7. Install the tailgate lock in the reverse order of removal.
