1. Remove the drive shaft as described in Chapter 2 and remove the corresponding CV joint (see chapter 4). Please note that even if both protective boots on the drive shaft must be replaced, it is enough to remove only one CV joint.
2. Release the retaining strap of the remaining boot and pull the boot off the drive shaft.
3. Clean the CV joint from old grease, then fill the CV joint with fresh grease of the type specified in the Specifications. If the CV joint is excessively worn or damaged, replace it as described in Chapter 4.
4. Install a new protective boot on the drive shaft so that its end with a smaller diameter fits into the recess of the drive shaft.
5. Install the CV joint using a new circlip.
6. Install the protective boot on the CV joint, then squeeze the protective boot to remove air from it.
7. Fasten the protective cover with new fastening strips. Use a screwdriver, if necessary, to push the strip as far as possible before inserting the tab into the slot. Finally tighten the strip by squeezing the raised part of the strip with pliers, being careful not to damage the protective cover.
