Measuring oil temperature (Opel Vectra A)

Oil temperature is important to know when making many engine adjustments.

The oil temperature should be measured at a distance of 10 mm from the bottom of the oil sump. To do this, insert a probe into the measurement hole until it touches the bottom of the sump and pull it out by 10 mm.

To prevent air from being sucked in through the measuring hole, it is closed with a rubber stopper.

Attention! Oil temperature depends on engine load. In an overloaded engine it can reach 150°C.
