The UCH controls the operation of the windscreen wipers only in intermittent and time-delay modes (when the washer pump is turned on). The modes "continuous operation at low speed" and "continuous operation at high speed" are not activated by the UCH, but directly by the multi-function windscreen wiper switch.
Removal
1. Make sure the wiper motor is in the locked stop position.
2. Disconnect the battery and wiring connector from the electric motor.
3. Remove the right and left windscreen wiper arms using special tool Ele. 1294-01, the side decorative elements of the air intake grille secured with clamps A, the air intake grille secured with clamps B, the sealing rings C, the windscreen washer tube (figure 9.81).

4. Remove the holders D and the runner E of the air intake grille (moving it) (figure 9.82).

5. Unscrew bolts F, bolt G securing the windshield wiper mechanism, remove sealing rings H (figure 9.83).

6. Disconnect the windshield wiper mechanism assembly from the windshield wiper motor.
Installation
7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
