Compressor
Removing
1. The compressor is located in the right front wheel arch. To gain access, jack up the front of the vehicle and place it on axle stands. Remove the right wheel and separate the liner of its arch.
2. Disconnect the wiring connector from the compressor.
3. Disconnect the air intake hose from the chamber behind the right headlight assembly.
4. Release the mounting bracket and separate the pressure tube from the top of the compressor.
5. Loosen and remove the mounting screws, then remove the compressor together with the mounting bracket.
Installation
6. Install in reverse order. Finally, check the operation of the rear suspension stiffness control system as described below.
Pressure tube
Removing
7. Disconnect the pressure pipe from the compressor as described in the previous subchapter.
8. Jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it on axle stands.
9. Release the metal spring clip and disconnect the pressure tube from the valve on the rear shock absorber housing. Disconnect the tube from the opposite shock absorber in the same way.
10. Locate the tubing T-piece on the bottom. Release the clamps and separate the pressure tube from the adapter.
11. Moving along the bottom of the car, let out a tube from fastening brackets, then remove it from the car.
Installation
12. Install in reverse order. Be sure to route the pressure tube so that it does not intertwine with the rear suspension components. Finally, check the operation of the suspension stiffness control system as described below.
Rear pitch sensor
Removing
13. Disconnect the negative wire from the battery and take it away from the terminal.
14. Block the front wheels, then jack up the rear of the vehicle and place it securely on axle stands. Remove rear wheels.
15. Disconnect sensor wiring at multi-coupler.
16. Wring out a screw-driver draft from spherical hinge on the leading lever of the gauge.
17. Turn off screws of fastening and remove the gauge from a back crossbeam together with an arm.
Installation
18. Install in reverse order. Finally, check the operation of the suspension control system as described below.
Checking system operation
19. Park your car on level ground (not slanted). The machine should not be loaded, remove everything unnecessary from it. Release the handbrake and let the engine idle for a while to allow the rear suspension ground clearance to stabilize. Reapply the handbrake.
20. Measure the distance between the road and the rear bumper.
21. Place a heavy load in the trunk. Release the handbrake and restart the engine to idle to stabilize the rear suspension ride height. After a while, apply the handbrake.
22. Repeat the measurement made in point 20. If the system is working, the ground clearance of the loaded vehicle should be 3-5 cm less than the first measurement.
23. Unload the vehicle and allow the ride height to stabilize again. The system should return the ground clearance to its previous value in 20 seconds.
