Rear Anti-Roll Bar — Removal and Installation (Opel Omega B2)

Removal



1. Block the front wheels, then jack up the rear of the vehicle and support it on axle stands.

2. On models with a rear damping adjuster, disconnect the wiring harness from the rear roll sensor. Make alignment marks on the sensor actuator arm and the stabilizer bar link, then press the link away from the ball joint on the actuator arm.

3. Disconnect the wiring from the wheel speed sensors, then release the wiring from the brackets on the rear crossmember.

4. Disconnect the anti-roll bar vertical links from the diagonal arms and remove the rubber cushions (see illustration).

5. Support the final drive unit with a jack. Remove the bolts securing the rear crossmember damper bracket to the underbody, then lower the final drive unit slightly to gain access to the stabilizer bar mounting clamp bolts.

6. Unscrew the clamp bolts from the rear crossmember and remove them from the stabilizer. Move the stabilizer by the crossmember and remove it from under the car together with the vertical rods.

7. Unscrew the bolts securing the vertical rods to the stabilizer. If necessary, push the rubber cushions out of the rods and replace them using a hydraulic press.



Installation



8. Install in reverse order. Tighten all nuts and bolts to the specified tightening torque Specifications.
