Removal
1. Remove the front wheel hub (see Chapter 9).
2. Unscrew the bolts of the brake disc protective cover from the steering knuckle.
3. Unscrew the steering rod ball joint nut (see Chapter 24). Using a special puller, remove the ball joint pin from the steering knuckle.

4. Remove the wheel speed sensor and disconnect its wiring (see the relevant section).
5. Apply alignment marks to the steering knuckle and strut to restore the wheel alignment during installation. Remove and discard the bolts and separate the strut from the knuckle. Note that the bolt heads are facing forward.
6. Loosen and remove the pinch bolt, then remove the joint from the lower arm (see illustrations).


Installation
7. Install in reverse order, using new bolts and nuts. Tighten the fasteners to the specified tightening torque Specifications, and if necessary, have your dealer check the wheel alignment.
