1. Perform the following procedures at the intervals given in Routine Maintenance at the start of this Guides.
2. Check up that level of a brake liquid is near the maximum mark on the transparent reservoir. Keep in mind that the level drops slightly as the brake pads wear. Add a level if necessary. If the level is near the minimum mark, check the hydraulic lines for signs of leakage.
3. If necessary, top up to the maximum level with new brake fluid (photo).
4. Check the brake shoe gaskets for wear in accordance with Chapters 3 and 4.
5. Check the handbrake shoe gaskets for wear according to Chapter 8.
6. Fully inspect all brake lines and flexible hoses for damage, leakage, and any signs of fraying or wear. If defects are found, replace the line or hose according to Chapter 14.
7. Check the operation of the vacuum servo (Chapter 15).
8. Change the brake fluid as follows. Remove the filler cap of the brake fluid reservoir and pump out all the fluid.
9. Guided Chapter 13 remove any remaining fluid from each brake caliper. Finally, make sure that all bleeders are tight.
