Removal
Remove the air filter.
Disconnect the wires from the battery terminals.
Pull the positive wire through the hole in the front panel and disconnect the connector.
Unscrew the drain plug of the cylinder block, drain the coolant into a container and screw in the drain plug.
Remove the hood.
Disconnect the radiator inlet and outlet hoses from the thermostat and water pump.
Disconnect the throttle and air valve drive cables from the carburetor.
Disconnect the wiring blocks from the electrical equipment units installed on the engine, disconnect the fuel supply hose from the fuel pump, and the fuel drain hose from the carburetor.
Remove the oil filter with the bracket.
Hook the engine.
Remove the right front engine mount bracket and place a jack under the gearbox.
Remove the four upper bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine block.
Disconnect the jumper wire from the gearbox to ground.
Unscrew the plug of the primary shaft of the gearbox, remove the retaining ring, unscrew the bolt from the rear end of the shaft and use a puller to pull the primary shaft out of the gearbox as far as it will go, as indicated in the "Clutch" section.
Disconnect the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold.
Remove the remaining engine mount brackets.
Remove the remaining bolts securing the clutch housing to the engine block.
Separate the engine from the clutch housing.
Turn the engine so that the clutch side is facing the front of the vehicle.
Raise the engine and remove it from the engine compartment.
Installation
Insert the engine into the engine compartment and install it in place, connecting it to the clutch housing.
Screw in and tighten the upper bolts securing the clutch housing to the cylinder block.
Install the right front engine mount bracket.
Remove the lifting straps and remove the jack from under the gearbox.
Install the oil filter with bracket.
Connect the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.
Install the remaining engine mount brackets.
Perform the remaining installation operations in the reverse order of removal.
Install the transmission input shaft in place as described in the section "Clutch".
Fill the cooling system with fluid as indicated in the subsection "Cooling system".
Start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. Make sure there are no leaks.
