Installing the cylinder head (Opel Kadett E)

Make two mounting studs from two old cylinder head mounting bolts and screw them into the cylinder block, install a new cylinder head gasket with the mark facing up.

Install the cylinder head onto the cylinder block.

Tighten the cylinder head mounting bolts in the order shown in the photo in four stages: Stage 1: torque 2.5 kgf·m; 2-4th steps: tighten the bolts by 60° each time.



Install the rocker arms in place, and then the rocker arms.

Adjust the clearances in the valve drive mechanism.

Subsequent installation of the cylinder head is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following:

• after installing the alternator drive belt, adjust its tension;
• fill the engine cooling system with liquid;
• start the engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature. Make sure there are no leaks.
