Removing
Crush the cylinder head see point 1.5.
Put the cylinder head but two wooden blocks.
Remove intake manifold with carburetor and exhaust manifold.
Remove valve levers and pressure elements.
Remove hydraulic valve clearance compensators.
Remove the valves using a suitable valve spring compressor. To do this, compress the valve springs and pull out the crackers.
Attention: When replacing valves, be sure to replace the oil seals. If these parts of the gas distribution mechanism are to be used again, they must be installed in their original places. In order not to confuse, it is recommended to prepare a layout board.
Remove the swivel bearing on the exhaust valve, the steel washer on the intake valve and the oil seal
Installation
Moisten valve stems with engine oil before installing valves. Insert the valves into the guide bushings of the cylinder head.
Install the valve swivel bearings on the exhaust valves.
Use new valve stem seals, see paragraph 1.17.
Place the inlet valve spring support washer as shown in the figure, put the valve stem cap on the valve stem.
Ensure the correct position of the support washer (arrow).
Attention: In case of incorrect installation of the support washers of the springs of the intake valves, the height of the spring is reduced by 2.6 mm. The consequence of this is the breakdown of parts of the mechanism.
Install the valve spring and poppet.
Using a suitable tool, compress the valve spring and insert the cotters.
Install hydraulic valve clearance compensators and pressure elements.
Attention: When installing pressure elements, make sure that the rounding falls on the rounding (see arrow).
Install levers. Sliding surfaces should be lubricated with MoS2 paste.
Screw the intake pipe and exhaust manifold with new gaskets to the cylinder head.
Install the cylinder head see point 1.5.
