Removal and installation valves (OHV engine) (Opel Kadett D)

Crush

Remove the cylinder head, see paragraph 1.19.

Place the cylinder head on two wooden blocks.

Compress the valve spring with a special compressor and remove the crackers from the valve stems.

Pull out the valve.

Remove the oil deflector cap.

Caution: Be sure to replace the oil seals.

Installation

Caution: Before installing the valves, carefully check the valve guides.

Before installing the valves, lubricate the valve stems with engine oil.

Insert the valves into the cylinder head guides.

Install new oil seals, see paragraph 1.17.

Install valve springs, see p. 1.10.

Install the cylinder head, see item 1.9.

Adjust valve clearances on a cold engine, see paragraph 1.18.
