Caution: If an electronic ignition system is installed, do not touch the conductive parts when the ignition is on. Therefore, to check the ignition spark, hold the ignition cable or spark plug tip only with well-insulated pliers or attach the tip to the engine with adhesive tape.
Caution: When connecting the ignition cables, pay attention to the ignition sequence 1-3-4-2.
Remove the distributor cap. There is a mark on the side of the distributor housing. Install the distributor cap.
The ignition cable of the 1st cylinder is installed above the mark. Start the engine for a short time. The ignition cables of cylinders 3-4-2 follow the direction of rotation of the distributor runner.
Use a voltmeter to measure the voltage at terminal 15 of the ignition coil. To avoid high voltage shock, follow some of the rules below.
Connect the voltmeter to terminal 15 and ground. Connect the wire from terminal 1, the ignition coil, to ground.
Turn on the starter and measure the input voltage with a voltmeter.
The voltage must be at least 9 V.
