Attention! Use only DOT 4 brake fluid.
The hydraulic clutch drive is pumped only «from below», i.e. through the bleed valve. For this purpose, a device is used to remove air from the hydraulic brake drive.
Attention! Manual pumping is not allowed.
Attention! Follow manufacturing instructions when using a brake bleeder. The brake bleeder must provide a pressure of approximately 2 bar.
Device installation
Connect the device for removing air from the hydraulic actuator. To do this, attach the brake bleeder adapter to the brake fluid reservoir.
Install the special tool MKM-6174-2 on the adapter.
Dip the end of the hose into a suitable container.
Disconnect the valve cap from the bleed valve and attach the special tool MKM-6174-1 to the bleed valve.
Bleed the air from the clutch actuator.
Turn on the device to remove air from the hydraulic drive.
Open the bleed valve (2–3 turns).
Bleed until the brake fluid comes out free of bubbles.
close (by hand) bleed valve.
Removing the device
Disconnect the air bleeder from the hydraulic actuator. Disconnect the hydraulic bleeder adapter.
Attention! Be sure to perform the following operations to fill the pressure pipe of the gearbox housing of the clutch slave cylinder. When pumping, make sure that the reservoir of the hydraulic drive of the brake system is filled.
Bleed the air from the pressure pipe of the clutch slave cylinder.
Install special tool MKM-6174-2 on MKM-6174-1 on the bleed valve, dip the free end into a suitable container
Press and hold the clutch pedal.
Open the bleed valve.
Open the bleed valve until air and/or an air/brake fluid mixture appears.
close (by hand) bleed valve.
Slowly release the clutch pedal and wait approximately 5 seconds.
Repeat the procedure four times.
Tighten the bleed valve to 5 Nm.
Disconnect special tools MKM-6174-1 and MKM-6174-2.
Remove the cap from the bleed valve.
Fill the clutch reservoir with brake fluid up to the mark «MAX».
Close the brake fluid reservoir.
Check the clutch pedal actuation pressure.
Check the ease of inclusion of all gears with the engine running and the clutch depressed.
Note. Do a test drive to ensure that the clutch and brake system works properly. Drive at different speeds and change gear frequently to reach operating temperatures.
