Attention. Do not mix hydraulic clutch fluid with mineral oils and greases. Even a small amount of them can cause a malfunction or breakdown of the clutch.
Note. Use only DOT 4+ brake fluid. Bleeding the hydraulic clutch should only be done «from below», i.e. through the bleeder valve. To carry out this procedure, you must use a special device for pumping (can be purchased from the service equipment catalog). Bleeding the system manually is no longer allowed. Use the manufacturer's instructions for the pumping device. The operating pressure must be set to approximately 2 bar.
1. If necessary, remove the battery tray.
2. Connect the bleeder:
- Screw on adapter (1) to the brake fluid expansion tank.
Note. Insert the end of the hose into a suitable container to collect the brake fluid.
- Connect kit DT-6174-A (2) to the adapter.
- Remove the cap from the bleed screw.
- Connect connection hose kit DT-6174-A (3) to the bleed valve (4).
- Connect the DT-6174-A kit to the bleeder.
2. Bleed the clutch hydraulic system:
- Turn on the pumping device.
- Loosen the bleed screw two or three turns.
- Bleed until there are no air bubbles in the escaping brake fluid.
- Tighten the bleed screw securely by hand.
3. Disconnect the bleeder:
- Disconnect the adapter from the brake fluid reservoir.
- Install the cap on the bleed screw.
Note. The following steps must be followed to repressurize the line between the transmission case and the slave cylinder. When bleeding, make sure that the brake fluid reservoir is always filled to the correct level.
4. Bleed the line between the gearbox housing and the working cylinder:
- Connect the DT-6174-A kit to the bleeder port and place the free end in a suitable container.
- Press and hold the clutch pedal.
- Open the bleeder valve to release the brake fluid with air bubbles.
- Tighten the bleed screw securely by hand.
Note. Do not overtighten the bleed screw.
- Release the clutch pedal completely.
- Wait approximately 5 seconds.
- Repeat the pumping process 4 times.
- Tighten the bleed screw.
- Disconnect kit DT-6174-A.
- Install the cap on the bleed screw.
5. Add brake fluid to the reservoir up to the mark «MAX» and install the tank cap.
6. Check the force of pressing the clutch pedal.
7. Check the ease of gear shifting on a stationary vehicle with the engine running and the clutch depressed.
8. Carry out a test drive on the car.
Note. A test drive on a car should contain elements of driving in different gears and at different engine speeds, warmed up to operating temperature. Make sure the clutch and brakes of the car are working properly.
