Hood — opening and closing (Opel Corsa C)

            0

The hood latch release lever handle is located on the left under the instrument panel (see illustrations 4.1 and 15.1). When you pull the lever, the hood should open slightly, then return the handle to its original position.

To finally release the hood, go around the front of the car and press the additional lock release lever, located about a palm's width to the right (if you look at the car from the front) center of the hood (see illustration 4.2). After releasing the lock, lift the hood, having first made sure that the windshield wiper arms are not pulled away from the glass. A folding stop is attached to the right wing splash guard to fix the hood in the open position. When closing the hood, it is placed along the front panel (see illustration 4.3) and is fixed in the holder.

Before slamming the hood, make sure that you have not left any tools, rags or other foreign objects in the engine compartment.

To close, gently lower the hood down, leaving a gap of about 20 cm, then release it. To check the reliability of the hood locking in the closed position, pull it up by the front edge.

Note: To avoid damaging the paintwork, do not press the loosely closed hood with your hands - the correct way is to open it again and try to slam it shut again by releasing it from a small height.
