Opening and closing the hood (Opel Astra J)

To access the engine compartment, pull the hood release handle towards you.



Lift the hood and through the resulting gap, push the safety hook tab to the side.



While holding the hood with one hand, remove the support from the holder...



...and install it in a special socket on the inner panel of the hood.

Attention! When lowering the hood, check the reliability of the lock: a characteristic click should be heard at the moment of locking.

To avoid dents on the front surface of the hood, close the hood by slamming it, releasing it from a height of 15–20 cm from the upper edge of the radiator frame.
