The oil pressure warning light sensor is screwed into the cylinder block wall on the left front side of the engine (under the exhaust manifold) and covered with a heat-insulating cover.
Note: For clarity, the exhaust manifold and water distribution pipe have been removed.
You will need a 24 key.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Slide the thermal insulation boot over the wire harness.
3. Press the lock of the wiring harness connector of the oil pressure warning light sensor…
4. …and disconnect the connector from the sensor.
5. Loosen the sensor tightening…
6. …and unscrew it from the cylinder block hole.
This is what the oil pressure warning light sensor looks like when removed from the car. Pay attention to the markings on the sensor body so that you can buy the same one when replacing it.
Replace the tightly compressed sensor gasket with a new one.
7. Perform an express check of the sensor's serviceability. Connect the probes of the tester, switched on in the resistance measurement mode, to its terminal and body. Remember the obtained resistance value of the sensor.
8. Using a metal rod or thick wire, carefully press the sensor membrane through the hole in the sensor fitting. The sensor resistance should increase significantly. If this does not happen, the sensor is faulty.
9. Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
