The low oil level indicator light sensor is installed inside the oil pan, and the adapter block of its wiring harness is located in the wall of the oil pan. The sensor can only be removed after removing the oil pan.
You will need: tORX E10 socket head, TORX T20 key, flat-blade screwdriver.
1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the wiring harness connector retainer…
3. …and disconnect the connector from the sensor adapter connector.
4. Remove the oil pan (see Replacing the oil pan seal).
5. Unscrew the two bolts securing the oil receiver damper…
Note: The bolts are located in the recesses of the oil receiver damper and therefore are not visible in the photograph.
6. …and take it off.
7. Using a screwdriver, pry up the retaining ring of the sensor adapter block…
8. …take it off…
9. …and remove the adapter shoe from the hole in the oil pan wall.
10. Remove the two bolts securing the low oil level indicator light sensor…

12. Use a screwdriver to pry up the rubber sealing ring of the sensor adapter block…
13. …and remove the ring.
Note: Replace the O-ring of the low oil level indicator sensor adapter connector with a new one each time the connection is disassembled.
14. Install the low oil level indicator sensor and all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
