Removal and installation the immobilizer (Opel Astra J)

You will need: flat-head and Phillips-head screwdrivers.



1. Remove the steering wheel (see Removal and installation the steering wheel).

2. Remove the steering column cover (see Removal and installation the steering column cover).



3. Use a screwdriver to pry up the plastic clips…



4. …and remove the immobilizer antenna ring from the ignition switch.





5. Remove the wiring harness connector from the immobilizer control unit.

6. Remove the two mounting screws…



7. …and remove the immobilizer control unit from the vehicle.

Note: This is what the immobilizer control unit looks like when removed from the vehicle.

8. Install the removed parts in the reverse order of removal.
