Removal and installation the central display (Opel Astra J)

Removing and installing the central display and the block of switches for the hazard warning lights, central locking and front passenger airbag.

You will need a flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the console trim panel (see Removal and installation the floor tunnel lining).

4. Remove the central display assembly with the hazard warning light, central lock and front passenger airbag switch block from the instrument panel.

5. Squeeze the latch…

6. …and disconnect the wiring harness connector from the switch block.

7. Similarly, disconnect the connector from the information display.

8. Remove the central display assembly with the hazard warning light, central lock and front passenger airbag switch unit from the vehicle.

9. Squeeze the plastic clips…

10. …and remove the switch block.

Note: This is what the hazard warning light, central locking and front passenger airbag switch unit looks like when removed from the vehicle.


11. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
