Removal and installation gear shift drive components (Opel Astra H)

Gearbox F13 and F17+



1. Loosen the gear selector shaft clamp bolt (see illustration 9.6).

2. Remove the center console (see Chapter 11).

3. Press the latches in the direction indicated by the arrows (see accompanying illustration) direction and remove the gear shift lever.

4. Remove 4 mounting bolts (see accompanying illustration) and remove the drive mechanism housing together with the rod.

5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to adjust the drive (see Section 9).

6. Remove the center console (see Chapter 11).

7. Disconnect the rods (torsos) from the gearshift lever assembly by first releasing the cable ends from the latches (see illustrations 9.10 and 10.7a), and then squeeze the clamps (see illustration 10.7b) and disconnect the cables.

8. Remove the 4 mounting bolts and gear shift lever assembly.

9. If necessary, remove the drive cables, for which you must first remove the battery with the tray (see Chapter 5), then disconnect the cable guide sleeve from the rear bulkhead of the engine compartment, disconnect the cable ends from the gearshift actuator rod and remove the cables from the holder by slightly pulling back the retaining rings.

10. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Do not forget to adjust the drive (see Section 9).
