2. Disconnect the sensor switch (see accompanying illustration), remove the clutch pedal return spring, and then remove the retainer and remove the pin securing the split pin of the clutch master cylinder pusher to the pedal.

3. Remove the 2 bolts securing the pedal support bracket to the steering crossmember, loosen the 2 nuts securing the pedal bracket to the engine compartment bulkhead/clutch master cylinder (see illustration 6.2).
4. Push the master cylinder studs back so that they do not protrude from the bulkhead.
5. Carefully remove the pedal assembly and take it out of the passenger compartment.
6. Check the pedal bracket for deformation and damage (the unit is made easily deformable to improve safety in the event of a collision). Assess the degree of wear of the bushings. Replace the failed components. If necessary, the pedal can be removed from the bracket by unscrewing the mounting bolts.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. If necessary, the pedal axle and bushings should be lubricated with universal grease before installation, check the smoothness of the pedal movement.
