2. Disconnect the battery from the ground.
Single shaft (SOHC) engines
3. Remove the air filter.
4. Remove the drive belt.
5. Turn away bolts and remove a rack of the generator from an inlet collector and an generator bracket from a head of cylinders.
6. Remove the wires from the bracket, disconnect the wires from the generator by removing the rubber caps.
7. Turn away the bottom bolt and remove the generator.
Engines 1.4, 1.6 and 1.8 liters
8. Remove the drive belt and air filter.
9. On 1.8L engines, disconnect the wires from the camshaft rotation sensor (see photo).
10. Turn away the top bolt of fastening of the generator (see photo).
11. Turn away the bottom bolt and take the generator aside.
12. Remove the alternator belt tensioner.
13. Disconnect the wires from the generator by removing the rubber covers (see photo).
14. Remove the generator bracket from the cylinder block by unscrewing the bolts (see photo). Move the bracket together with the generator up (on models with air conditioning, move the bracket with the generator down)
15. Remove the bolt (see photo) and remove the alternator together with the bracket (see photo).
Engine 2.0L
16. Remove the air filter and drive belt.
17. Turn away bolts and remove arms of the generator from an inlet collector and from a head of cylinders.
18. Disconnect the wires from the generator by removing the rubber caps.
19. Turn away 3 bolts and remove an arm of the generator from the block of cylinders. Move the bracket with the generator down and remove it from the bottom of the engine compartment.
20. Turn away bolts and remove the generator from an arm.
21. Installation of the generator is carried out in the reverse order. Adjust belt tension.
