1. The serviceability of the system should be checked if the control lamp does not go out after starting the engine. Connect a voltmeter to the battery terminals and start the engine.
2. Increase RPM until voltmeter reading stabilizes between 12-13V (but not higher than 14 V).
3. Turn on all consumers (headlights, heater, etc.). The generator voltage must be stable between 13 and 14 V.
4. If the voltage differs from the norm, then the reasons may also be a malfunction of the voltage regulator, diodes, wear of the brushes, weakening of the brush springs. The generator should be removed and checked in a car service.
