Starter — removal and installation (Opel Astra G)

1. Disconnect the battery from ground. Raise the front of the car and support it on stands. Remove the lower engine protection panel.

Single shaft (SOHC) engines

2. Unscrew the nuts and disconnect the wires from the traction relay.

3. Disconnect the ground bus from the starter by unscrewing the nut. Unscrew the bolt and nut and remove the starter.

Twin-shaft (DOHC) engines

4. Loosen the bolts and remove the bracket under the intake manifold.

5. Remove the starter (see photo).
