Before servicing the emergency pretensioner modules, disable the SRS (see Chapter On-board electrical equipment). The SRS circuit wiring is easily distinguished by the yellow color of the insulation!
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait at least one minute before proceeding with the upcoming work, during which time the SRS independent power supply capacitor should discharge.
2. Remove the front seat (see Removal and installation front seats).
3. Disconnect the emergency belt tensioner module wiring from the seat base.
4. Loosen the mounting bolt and remove the tensioner from the front seat.
5. Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Before screwing in the fastening bolt, lubricate its threaded part with a fixing anaerobic sealant. Make sure that the bolt is tightened with the required force.
