Removal

1. Wash the windshield, turn the windshield wipers on and off again - they should be in the extreme lower position.

2. Mark the position of the rubber wiper blades by sticking tape or insulating tape along the blade to the windshield.

3. Open the hood.

4. Use a screwdriver to pry off the protective cap (see accompanying illustration) and remove it from the lever axis spindle.

7.4 Removing the protective cap (2) from the spindle of the arm axis (3) of the windshield wiper: 1. Screwdriver

5. Loosen the fastening nut by about 2 turns. Slightly swinging the wiper arm from side to side, pull it off the seat sleeve of the axle spindle, use a suitable tool if necessary. Service stations use a special device Hazet 1966-05.

6. Completely loosen the nut and remove the wiper arm from the spindle.

Installation

7. Make sure that the windscreen wiper drive position corresponds to the extreme position, if necessary, turn on the drive and set the required position.

8. Install the lever onto the spindle seat bushing so that the wiper blade aligns with the adhesive tape (tape) previously applied.

9. Tighten the lever fastening nut manually. Close the hood, wash the windshield and after a while turn on the windshield wipers. When working, the wiper blades should not go beyond the glass, and when the drive is turned off, they should return to the extreme lower position. Otherwise, loosen the nut and reinstall the corresponding lever.

10. After completing the adjustment, tighten the mounting nuts and replace the protective caps.

Rear window

11. Removal/installation of the rear window wiper arm is performed in a similar manner (see above).
