Note: On Astra models equipped with a threaded cap, unscrew the cap by hand until there is sufficient clearance between the cap and the lever.

5. Loosen the fastening nut (see illustration 9.4) approximately 2 turns. Slightly rocking the wiper arm from side to side, pull it off the seat sleeve of the axle spindle, if necessary, use a suitable tool. At service stations, use a special device HAZET 779-18 (see accompanying illustration).

6. Completely loosen the nut and remove the wiper arm from the spindle.

Note: On some models, a washer may be installed on the lever axle (see illustration 9.4), remember its position and do not forget to put it on when installing the lever.

8. Install the lever on the spindle mounting sleeve so that the wiper blade coincides with the previously applied adhesive tape.

9. Tighten the lever mounting nut manually. Close the hood, wash the windshield and after a while turn on the windshield wipers - when working, the wiper blades should not go beyond the glass, and when the drive is turned off, they should return to the extreme lower position. Otherwise, loosen the nut and reinstall the corresponding lever.

10. After completing the adjustment, tighten the fastening nuts to the required torque and replace the protective caps.

Rear window
