Removal and installation the washer fluid reservoir/pump (Opel Astra H)

Note: If necessary, the pumps can be removed without removing the tank from the vehicle.


1. Remove the decorative radiator grille (see Chapter 11).

2. Remove the bolts (see accompanying illustration) fastenings of the washer fluid reservoir.

3. Disconnect the electrical wiring (see accompanying illustration) from the windshield washer pump and the washer fluid level sensor. Disconnect the hoses from the windshield washer pump, trying to prevent washer fluid from leaking out. Then disconnect the wiring connector and hose from the headlight washer pump.

4. Remove the washer fluid reservoir from the bottom and disconnect the hose from the reservoir.



5. Release the pumps from the reservoir holders. If necessary, remove the liquid level sensor.

6. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Upon completion of the work, fill the tank with fresh fluid.

Zafira Models



Note: Removing the pump is carried out in the same way as on Astra models.


7. Remove the front bumper cover (see Chapter 11).

8. Loosen the upper washer fluid reservoir retaining nut.

9. Release the windshield washer hoses from the holder (see accompanying illustration), disconnect the wiring from the washer pump and the washer fluid level sensor, and disconnect the hoses from the windshield washer pump. Try to prevent washer fluid from leaking out.
