Removal the throttle cable
The throttle cable connects the gas pedal and the throttle valve of the injection system. Its biggest drawback: it is very sensitive to bending, so special attention should be paid to this during installation.
- Pull out the plastic throttle cable nipple at the top end of the gas pedal and remove the cable upward.
- Open the hood. Remove the plastic terminal behind the brake booster on the front wall and pull the throttle cable out completely.
- To do this, if necessary, drain the coolant into a container. Remove the expansion tank with coolant on the front wall and set it aside.
- Press the clamp on the ball head of the front end of the throttle cable and remove.
- Press the throttle cable away from the throttle linkage and remove it from the counter support
- When installing, lightly lubricate the ball head of the cable.
At the bottom of the intake manifold next to the generator is a coolant temperature sensor (arrow). It transmits information about the current coolant temperature to the control unit to prepare the optimal fuel-air mixture.

Adjusting the throttle cable
The throttle cable should always be installed without tension, i.e. with some allowance.
- Have your assistant fully depress the gas pedal.
- Remove the bracket on the mounting bracket.
- Move the throttle to the full throttle position by pulling on the cable housing.
- Insert the locking clip into the corresponding notch in the groove segment at the end of the throttle cable housing.
- Check: In the idle position, the throttle cable should have some clearance. When the gas pedal is fully depressed, the injection system should create a full throttle position.
- If the gas pedal travel is not sufficient, it should be adjusted accordingly using the screw at the top of the gas pedal.
