Selector cable — removal and installation (Opel Vectra B)

1. Remove the center console and set the selector lever to position P.



2. Using a thin screwdriver blade (indicated by the arrow) as a lever, remove the selector cable (2) from the ball joint (3) at the base of the selector lever. Release the selector cable from the front of the selector lever bracket.

3. Remove the battery and battery support.

4. Remove the selector cable from the gear selector lever on the gearbox. Remove the selector cable housing from the bracket.

5. Disconnect the selector cable from all mounting brackets. Remove the selector cable sealing ring from the engine compartment bulkhead and remove the selector cable.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, and it is necessary to adjust the selector cable.
