Electrical components of the injection system of the 1.7 l engine (Opel Vectra B)

            0

The only electrical component in the injection system is the engine shut-off solenoid valve, which is located on top of the high-pressure fuel pump. If the engine shut-off solenoid valve or its power supply circuit is faulty, the engine cannot be started because the fuel supply to the fuel injectors will be blocked.

Removal and installation

Models with immobilizer

1. Remove the intake manifold.

2. Remove the oil cooler.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector of the engine stop solenoid valve from the control unit. Remove the rubber boot from the top of the valve, unscrew the nut and remove the power wire.

4. Remove the bolts and remove the control unit from the rear of the fuel pump.

5. Unscrew the solenoid valve and remove the plunger and spring from the fuel pump.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
