Coolant temperature sensor (Opel Vectra B)

Removal



1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.

SOCH 1.6L Petrol Engine

2. Remove the bolt and torque compensator rod from the right side of the engine.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor located on the thermostat housing on the right side of the cylinder block.

4. Unscrew and remove the sensor from the thermostat housing.

Petrol engines DOCH 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 l

5. Remove the ignition unit.

6. Remove the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor located on the shroud on the left side of the cylinder head.

7. Unscrew the sensor.

Diesel engines

Diesel engines


8. The temperature sensor is located on the thermostat housing. On the 1.7L engine, the housing is on the left end of the cylinder head. On the 2.0L engines, the sensor is on the right front of the cylinder head (indicated by the arrow).

9. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.

9. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.


10. Disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor from the thermostat housing.



Installation



Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Fill the cooling system with coolant.
