Removing
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
1.6L SOCH petrol engine
2. Unscrew the bolt and remove the torque compensator rod from the right side of the engine.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor located on the thermostat housing on the right side of the cylinder block.
4. Unscrew and remove the sensor from the thermostat housing.
DOCH 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0L petrol engines
5. Remove the ignition block.
6. Remove the electrical connector from the coolant temperature sensor located on the casing on the left side of the cylinder head.
7. Unscrew the sensor.
Diesel engines
8. The temperature sensor is located on the thermostat housing. On the 1.7L engine, the shroud is located on the left end of the cylinder head. On 2.0L engines, the sensor is located on the right front of the cylinder head (indicated by an arrow).
9. Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
10. Disconnect the electrical connector and unscrew the sensor from the thermostat housing.
Installation
Installation is made in sequence, return to removal. Pour coolant into the cooling system.
