Multi-Info-display — Check-control

Check-Control monitors fluid levels, front disc brake lining thickness, automatic transmission functionality and key exterior lighting, including wiring and fuses. When checking the lights, a fault is only displayed when the corresponding circuit is switched on.

After the ignition is turned on, all Check-Control functions are automatically checked.

If all functions that are monitored are in order, the inscription Bremslicht Prufung (checking brake lights) goes out after the first press of the brake pedal.

Error messages are displayed on the display. Additionally, the CHECK inscription lights up. In case of several errors, the messages about them are displayed one after another.

Some messages are displayed on the display as abbreviations.

Fault indication

– Olstand prufen (check oil level)

The oil level in the engine lubrication system is too low. Check the oil level as soon as possible, add oil.

– Kuhlmittel Stand (coolant level)

The coolant level in the expansion tank is too low.

– Automatik Getriebe (automatic transmission)

The gearbox no longer shifts automatically. Shift manually.

– Bremsbelag (brake shoe linings)

The front disc brake pad linings are worn to minimum thickness.

– Bremslicht Sicherung (brake light fuse)

The fuse for the brake lights has blown. Replace the fuse only after the fault has been corrected.

– Bremslicht (brake lights)

– Fahrlicht Rucklicht (headlights, reversing lights)

The low beam or reversing lights are out of order.

– Waschwasser Stand (flushing fluid level)

The fluid level in the windshield washer reservoir is too low.

If fault messages are displayed, the display is blocked to indicate the status of the on-board computer.

If fault messages are displayed, the display is blocked to indicate the status of the on-board…

The fault message must be confirmed by pressing the S or R button on the windscreen wiper lever. If several fault messages are displayed, confirm by pressing them one after the other.

After confirmation, the message on the display is erased. The display is free to display messages from the on-board computer. The CHECK inscription on the right side of the display remains lit, reminding you that there are one or more faults.

Messages Bremslicht Sicherung (brake light fuse), Bremslicht (brake lights) and Fahrlicht Rucklicht (headlights, reversing lights) are displayed again 15 minutes after confirmation.

After turning the ignition off and on, the messages stored in the memory are displayed on the display one by one.

Once the problem is resolved, the messages are automatically deleted.
