Remove the air filter.
Unscrew the mounting bolt and disconnect the jumper to ground from the gearbox housing.
Loosen the tension of the forced reverse shift cable in the area of the mounting bracket hole and disconnect the ball end of the stop cable.
Unscrew the bolt securing the forced reverse shift cable bushing to the gearbox and disconnect the cable.
Remove the gear selector rod retaining ring and disconnect the rod.
Disconnect the flexible speedometer drive shaft from the centrifugal governor cover.
Place the KM 263 support under the engine.
Disconnect the gear selection cable bracket from the gearbox.
Loosen the nuts of the ball joint pins of the front suspension and press the pins out of the steering knuckles; disconnect the front wheel drive shafts from the gearbox.
Disconnect the oil lines from the gearbox and close the openings in the lines and gearbox housing with plugs.
Remove the bolts securing the gearbox housing to the engine.
Place a support under the gearbox and remove the side suspension brackets.
Remove the protective cover of the torque converter, remove the torque converter.
Remove the gearbox.
If the gearbox is replaced, also remove the oil line fittings for reuse.
The gearbox is installed in the reverse order of removal. After installing the torque converter, check the dimension "A" (see picture) between the torque converter mounting pin and the support surface of the gearbox housing, which should be within 9-10 mm.
