The sun gear is engaged with the satellites, which rotate freely on the crosspiece. The crown gear with internal engagement serves as the planetary gear housing and is engaged with the satellites. Torque is transmitted through the planetary gear by applying force to one of the transmission elements, while the other element remains locked and functions as a transmission element to ensure torque transmission by the third element. As a result, the following is ensured:
- increase in torque with a simultaneous proportional decrease in the output shaft speed;
- increase in rotation speed with a simultaneous proportional decrease in torque on the output shaft;
- change of direction of rotation;
- direct transmission.
The TNM 125 gearbox has three planetary gears. The input planetary gear consists of a crown gear with internal engagement, which serves as a hub for the forward clutch, a group of satellites, the splined hub of the crosspiece of which sets the shaft in motion.
- the output planetary gear sun gear and the input sun gear. The input sun gear drives the low gear planetary gear sun gear, which transmits motion to the internal engagement ring gear.
The output planetary gear is mounted next to the differential.
