The sun gear is engaged with the planet gears, which rotate freely on the spider. The internal ring gear serves as the planetary gear housing and meshes with the pinion gears. The transfer of torque through the planetary gear is carried out by applying force to one of the transmission elements, while the other element remains blocked and acts as a transmission element to ensure the transmission of torque by the third element. This results in:
- increase in torque with a simultaneous proportional decrease in the speed of rotation of the output shaft;
- increase in rotation speed with a simultaneous proportional decrease in torque on the output shaft;
- change of direction of rotation;
- direct transmission.
The TNM 125 gearbox has three planetary gears. The input planetary gear consists of a ring gear with internal gearing, which serves as the hub of the forward clutch, a group of satellites, the splined hub of the cross of which drives the shaft.
- the sun gear of the output planetary gear, and the input sun gear. The input sun gear drives the low gear planetary sun gear, which transmits motion to the internal ring gear.
The output planetary gear is mounted next to the differential.
