Type: 125 TNM.
Marking:
- cars with engine «13N»: EF;
- cars with engine «13S»: EC;
- cars with engine «16S»: EO.
The selector lever has six positions: P - parking (the transmission brake is applied, the engine can be started); R - reverse; N - neutral (engine start possible); D - automatic inclusion of I, II and III gears; 2 - automatic inclusion of I and II gears; 1 — inclusion of the 1st gear.
Automatic gear shifting is determined by throttle position and vehicle speed. There is a system of forced reverse switching by pressing the accelerator pedal all the way («kickdown») for maximum vehicle acceleration. A special safety device prevents switching from II gear to I by the selector lever if the vehicle speed exceeds the maximum allowable for the position «1» selector lever, which is equal to 55 km / h for cars with engines «13N», «13S» and 60 km/h for vehicles with engine «16S».
Car towing
With a working automatic transmission, the car can be towed for a distance of no more than 100 km at a speed not exceeding 80 km/h.
When towing long distances or if the automatic transmission is faulty, jack up the front of the vehicle.
Gear ratios
Torque converter
The torque converter consists of a pump, a turbine and a reactor, which are wheels.
Marking:
- cars with engines «13N», «13S»: FAD;
- cars with engine «16S»: FCO (F20) *.
Torque converter transformation ratio:
- cars with engines «13N», «13S»: 2,4,
- cars with engine «16S»: 2,0 (2,5).
Outer diameter, mm: 245.
Gap between the torque converter locating pin and the bearing surface of the gearbox housing, mm: 9-10.
*Since model year 1986.
Note. Since model year 1985, a redesigned pump shaft bearing has been installed. The bearing is installed using the KM 596 mandrel.
