The roller freewheel only transmits rotation in one direction. It consists of a splined hub driven by the 1st gear and reverse clutch housing, and an outer cam cage welded to the jet planetary pinion spider.
The freewheel locking mechanism, located between the hub and the outer race, includes rollers and springs. The rollers are self-locking in the conical grooves of the outer cage, which ensures the rotation of the freewheel in only one direction.
