The roller freewheel clutch transmits rotation in only one direction. It consists of a splined hub driven by the 1st gear and reverse clutch housing, and an outer cam cage welded to the crosspiece of the planetary reactive gear satellites.
The freewheel clutch locking mechanism, located between the hub and the outer race, includes rollers and springs. The rollers are self-locking in the conical grooves of the outer race, which ensures the freewheel clutch rotates in only one direction.
