Removal and installation the tailgate lock (Opel Corsa C)

1. Remove the tailgate trim (see Section 15).

2. Disconnect the rod from the lock, unscrew the 3 screws and remove the lock latch housing from the tailgate (see accompanying illustration).

3. Loosen the 2 nuts (see accompanying illustration) and remove the outer handle of the tailgate. Disconnect the rod from the lock cylinder housing.

4. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery (see Chapter 5).



5. Disconnect the electrical wiring connector and remove the single lock actuator motor together with the lock cylinder housing from the tailgate (see accompanying illustration 16.3).

6. Loosen the 2 nuts, remove the drive rod locking bracket and disconnect the electric motor from the lock cylinder housing.

7. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. After installation, check the proper functioning of the locking mechanism with the tailgate open.
