Tailgate Lock Switch (Cylinder) — Replacement (Opel Zafira A)

Note: The work is shown on the example of replacing the switch of the Astra model. On the Zafira model, the operation is performed similarly.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Remove the trim of the luggage compartment door (see "Astra model trunk door trim - removal and installation" or "Zafira tailgate trim - removal and installation").

3. Turn the lock to disconnect the electric drive rod of the lock.



4. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, unscrew the two nuts securing the switch (cylinder).



5. Move the switch (cylinder) away from the door and turn it slightly to disconnect the lock rod from it.

6. Install the parts in reverse order.

Recommendation: Lubricate the switch mechanism (cylinder) with lithium grease.
