Gas struts for the tailgate — replacement (Opel Zafira A)

If the tailgate does not stay open, its gas struts must be replaced.

Sequence of execution

1. Prepare the car for work (see "Preparing the car for maintenance and repair").

2. Install a suitable stop to secure the luggage compartment door in the open position.

3. Using a thin slotted screwdriver, slightly move the spring retainer of the gas strut outward and disconnect the gas strut from the door.



4. In the same way, we disconnect the gas strut from the car body.



5. To install the gas strut, simply snap it onto the mounting pins.

6. Replace the second stop in the same way.
