General information
See Section Procedures for repairing SOHC gasoline engines without removing them from the vehicle.
How to perform the procedure
1. Set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position. To do this, place the transmission in neutral and apply the parking brake. Install a bent ring wrench or ratchet socket onto the crankshaft sprocket center bolt. Turn the crankshaft by hand in a clockwise direction so that the mark on the pulley is opposite the pointer on the cylinder block.

2. At the same time, when properly adjusted, the fixing bolts (arrows) must fit into the camshaft gears.

3. If this fails, rotate the crankshaft one full turn. Ordinary bolts M6x1.00x30 can be used as fixing bolts (camshaft) and M8x1.25x40 (injection pump).
