Removal and installation the battery (Opel Astra J)

You will need: wrenches "10", "13", flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Open the hood.

4. Loosen the tightening nut of the clamping bolt of the negative terminal wire tip…

5. …and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

6. Open the fuse box cover.

7. Loosen the positive terminal wire clamp nut.

8. Unscrew the nut securing the end of the fuse link bus wire to the end of the positive battery wire.

9. Unscrew the nut securing the power cable tip to the fuse link…

10. …and disconnect the wire from the insert.

12. …and disconnect the power cable tip from the positive terminal of the battery.

13. Unscrew the two nuts securing the pressure plate…

15. Remove the heat shield mounting screw…

17. Press the latch..

18. …and move the fuse block housing away from the battery.

20. …and move the fuse block housing to the side.

21. Remove the battery from the vehicle.

22. Install the battery in the reverse order of removal. Before connecting the wires, clean the battery terminals and the inner surfaces of the wire tips with fine-grained sandpaper. Connect the wires in the reverse order of removal, observing the polarity. After connecting the wires to the terminals, apply a thin layer of Litol-24 grease or its equivalent to the wire tips and exposed surfaces of the terminals (copper-containing conductive lubricants are most preferred).
