Replacing the generator pulley (Opel Astra J)

You will need: high socket head "24", Allen key "8", gas key or sliding pliers of the "cobra" type.

1. Remove the generator from the vehicle (see Removal and installation the generator).



2. Holding the generator shaft with a hex key, unscrew the pulley mounting nut…



3. …and remove the pulley from the shaft.

4. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.

Note: You can secure the generator pulley when unscrewing its mounting nut by clamping it in a vice through an old belt.
