Removal and installation the windshield wiper linkage and gear motor (Opel Astra J)

You will need: wrenches "10" and TORX T30, pliers.

1. Disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.



2. Remove the air intake box grille and the windshield wiper protective cover (see Removal and installation the air intake box grille).



3. Use pliers to squeeze the tabs of the wire harness holder…



4. …and disconnect the wiring harness from the windshield wiper linkage.





5. Remove the bolts of the right…



6. ...central..



7. …and the left windshield wiper linkage mounts.



8. Move the trapezoid away from the body.





9. Squeeze the latch…



10. …disconnect the wiring harness connector from the windshield wiper motor…



11. …and remove the windshield wiper linkage assembly with the gear motor.



12. Mark the relative positions of the crank and the gear motor shaft so as not to disturb the adjustment of the trapezoid during reinstallation.





13. Unscrew the crank mounting nut and disconnect it from the gear motor shaft.



14. Remove the three mounting screws…



15. …and disconnect the gear motor and the trapezoid.

16. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
